Concert special featuring Billy Gibbons, Stephen Stills, Robby Krieger & more airing on select stations this month
A TV special that documents a recent benefit concert featuring such rock greats as ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons, Stephen Stills, The Doors‘ Robby Krieger, Sammy Hagar and ex-Eagles guitarist Don Felder will premiere in the coming days on select syndicated stations across the U.S.
The America Salutes You Presents Guitar Legends II event took place December 2 at The Novo in Los Angeles, and will begin airing on December 22. The concert pays tribute to American veterans, firefighters and first responders, and raised funds for charities supporting brain and mental wellness.
Other musicians on the bill included Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro, former Wings member Laurence Juber, Living Colour‘s Vernon Reid, popular blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa and Australian guitar whiz Orianthi.
The event also featured a tribute to California firefighters, and the presentation of lifetime achievement awards to TV writer and producer Norman Lear and actor Joe Mantegna.
A percentage of the audience was made up of veterans who attended the show for free, thanks to a donation provided by the Veteran Tickets Foundation.
